How to Spot a Fake Coach Bag

Posted February 21st, 2010 by Charlotte

As designer handbags usually come with barely affordable price tags, there’s no wonder that fake bags manufacturers are thriving. Many girls wish to show off with a designer bag hanging on their shoulder, but few of them afford to pay that kind of money for a bag. Even cheaper brand names such as Coach bags or Botkier are subject to counterfeits. Many times, those fake leather goods look so well that it’s really hard to spot they aren’t original.

It can be hard to tell the difference between a real Coach purse and a Coach knockoff, especially if you’re at your first Coach purse and you don’t know what to look for when making your purchase. Learn these few simple tips to quickly and easily pick out an authentic Coach handbag, so you can be sure you pay for the real stuff and not for a cheap replica. For instance, did you know that Coach never wrap their bags’ hardware in plastic? If you see plastic wraps on the hardware, you’re 100% surely going to pay the real price for a fake purse. This video discloses other excellent tips to help you differentiate between an authentic Coach purse and a replica.

lol ok soo alll of these looked exactly the same to me!!! except for the tag yea the metal ones look totally cheap, but like the stiching ha who notices that!!!

I know what you mean…. Who cares if it is fake? If you really think about it most of these designer bags are not even manufactured in the U.S. we are paying for packaging, retail, and advertisement when the companies that sell them pay hardly anything for them. We think we are smart for carrying around a purse we bought at the actual coach store but we are the ones getting ripped off!! I only get upset if it is fake when a person pays full price for a fake not knowing :(

Yeah! &the Coach’s that have ‘G’s instead of ‘C’s are called Goaches!! Haha XD
I saw a fake Chanel the other day, the two c’s were o’s. It’s so much of a giveaway it’s fake!! Lol.

Or the Coach Factory Stores in the outlet malls. I never bought anything out of the Coach Store at Lenox in Atlanta, but I dig the Outlet store for a quality AUTHENTIC(!) bag at a discount price.

  5. jojapeach1922 says:

If it has poor stitching, it is quite likely that there will be other tell-tale signs of the bag being a Goach, like the C/CC’s not being lined up. However, I’ve seen some complete crooked stitching being carried in malls, and I hate Goach bags!

I figured one major point of this video is to learn the signs of Goach bags so you won’t be tricked into thinking you’re buying an authentic Coach.

This was a great video. I bought a real one first and got fooled on my second one. I guess that’s what happens when you buy from someone’s trunk! LOL

Actually, sorry to burst your bubble but I can almost always tell if a Coach bag is fake. And I’m sorry, but I judge if someone is wearing a fake bag. What’s the point of wearing a fake name brand? If you can’t afford it– buy an unmarked bag! There are so many cute, non-name brand purses on the market.

la la la go to mexico and get fake EVERYTHING that looks good too I get comments on my 15 dollar gucci wallet all the time and my 5 dollar luis vitton sunglasses- I know they re fakes but no one else can tell cause they make em good there I guess

There are authentic coach tags that are metal. I have a black CC signature purse and wristlet purchased at the Coach store in King Of Prussia, PA that both have matching metal coach tags. They are very heavy, that’s a good way to tell as well. Cheap metal tags will be light-weight.

    im sorry but WHO CARES.

i love fake purses b/c their freaking less money and no one is going to come up to your purse and start examining the stitching or quality.

its just plain stupid to waste your money like that. id rather spend my money on FOOD and such.

    just my opinion…

  12. lilfrancisca says:

Ima be totally honest here i dont really care if itd real or fake im not gonna spend 200 dollars on a stinkin purse thats why i buy fakes and idgaf cause at the end of the day its my swagg not others

  13. heywhatsup47 says:

who the heck cares? Its just a dumb bag. they overprice just because they have the “coach” name. Sometimes, the fake ones are cuter than the real ones.

  14. jeymatogoh says:

I echoe MsCutie2010 worse when u pay actual amount for a fake one. better the one who got it at $15. The bureau of standards should be working on taking fakes off the market for the sake of the manufacturers and designers

  15. lenamz2 says:

    thankx for such good tips.

  16. LoVeStoned2424 says:

I don’t understand why people make fake Coach bags? I mean most of the bags are reasonably priced $500 and under.

  17. jellytubber45 says:

it doesn’t even matter anyway….unless your like a stuck up bitch.

  18. GGDslover says:

Actually coach bags are made in the U.S.A upping the cost insuring better design, if you carry a fake it makes people mad because they paid for the real thing and you paid less for a replica that shouldn’t be there because it makes coach look trashy like the faux bags produced

  19. GGDslover says:

lol i went to a social event today and spotted around 5 fakes at once lol one had both c’s and g’s lol

  20. nathansgirl1908 says:

The best way to avoid getting a fake is to buy from the boutique or an official Coach outlet.

tjk7703 is Right. There’s Authentic coach Purse’s with the Coach Tags Beings Metal. Next time you go to the coach store you should check it out [: I Have 3 Authentic Coach Handbags that I bought from a coach store && Tags Were Metal. Some are Leather, but they can also be metal [:

  22. cococandy1000 says:

Yeah, I have some that are Metal Too. Not all Coach Handbags Have Leather Tags. Some are also Metal. [:

  23. cococandy1000 says:

Some People are like “Who Cares if its a Fake” I agree, but at the same time disagree. The Reason are because. Some Fakes are Made very Poorly & Look really sloppy, but then again some fakes look really good & can barely tell the defference. All I’m saying is that.. If you are going to buy a Fake get one that’s not sloppy & Not 2 noticable. [: Also, The fakes are a really good buy 2, but sometimes people sell them saying there real & it turns out 2 be a fake. That’s was I hate.. So watch out! [:

i went to the bahamas and got a coach wallet for thirty bucks. coach isn’t popular there, so it’s not worth that much, but it is over here in the statess! ;D

  25. calenderhappy12 says:

I have an idea………………….just buy a bag at a real COACH STORE for goodness sakes!!!!!!!!! DON”T BUY DESIGNER GOODS ANYWHERE BESIDES THE DESIGNER’S STORE. Then you’ll make sure it’s real without having to listen to all these ‘tips”.
